Step 2: Upload photos and documents 

Make sure to provide us with clear pictures and as much detail as possible, history, and measurements.  Documents are optional, take front and back images of your items.


Step 3: Review and submit

All set! Our specialists will review your submission and we’ll be in touch within 3 business days.  If you don’t hear from us, please call 315.447.1656 to follow up.

We Offer Several Types of Auctions to Sell your Items:

Traditional Multi-Platform Online Auctions and Timed Online Auctions

Our Traditional Online Auctions are worldwide and are offered on Multiple third-party bidding platform.  We offer one lot at a time starting with Lot 1 and continuing through until the final lot is sold.  We also accept phone bids and absentee bids directly for most auctions.  Timed Auctions are much different than Traditional online multi-platform auctions.  Timed Auction are offered on only one auction platform and the entire auction is online only.  No phone bidding is accepted.

Timed auctions have “Soft” closing times.  Many lots can be opened and bid on at the same time during Timed auction.  Lots close sequentially, one lot per minute, with a “soft” close.  Should any bids be placed in the final minute, bidding will remain open on that lot for one additional minute.  (Please note that time each lot opens and closes after the final bid may vary per auction. 


On Site Auctions are best for merchandise that has a particularly desirable or collectible nature or a compelling story.  Auctions are quite competitive!  Prices for items that are rare, hard to find, and desirable can often surprise us favorably at auction.  Fine antiques, artwork, collectibles, machinery, and other valuable objects are examples of merchandise that perform well in the auction arena.

Destination Auctions

Our Distinctive Destination Auctions are an event in themselves not to be missed!  Each event is an eclectic accumulation of a plethora of valuable and exceptional antiques, paintings, sculptures, silver, oriental carpets, fine jewelry, and other objects of virtue!  Terri Peters & Associates' Destination Auctions are held at unique and exclusive venues throughout the region.  Prior to each of our Destination Auctions, we host an exclusive charity preview evening with all proceeds donated to a not-for-profit organization.  These items come to us from many and varied sources including estates, collections, institutions, and individuals.  We schedule these fun and festive events several times a year! 


Bulk Merchandise Auctions are designed for extraordinary situations when circumstances prevent an 'On-site' Auction, Estate Tag Sale or removal of the merchandise to another location.  Bulk Auctions are unique properties in which the owners/executors/POA need to empty the premises for various reasons.  Examples may include:  A hoarder's property where there is a large quantity of merchandise with individual items of minor value.  Or a situation where time is a deciding factor and the items have to be sold and/or removed quickly. 


Terri Peters & Associates Auction and Estate Marketing will provide:

  • A thorough inspection of the property in order to determine exactly what is being sold.
  • Scheduling and Management of the Bulk Merchandise Auction.
  • Contacting appropriate potential buyers from our proprietary list of individuals and businesses that have the means to purchase and the ability to move the merchandise. These bidders will include local auctioneers that conduct regular weekly or bi-weekly auctions, flea market dealers, used home goods stores and others with various means of liquidation.
  • Spelling out the terms of the sale to all potential bidders. Example: That no items are to be removed that are attached to the property; That unwanted items are to be placed in trash bags when possible;  That care is to be taken not to cause damage to the premises.
  • A signed waiver of indemnity by bidders in case of any injury incurred while on the premises.
  • Collection of payment including cash, check, bank transfers and all major credit cards.  This includes collection and payment of all applicable taxes.
  • Arrangment for the timely removal of the merchandise (usually within 1-2 weeks of the sale).
  • Arrangment for the disposal of residual and unwanted merchandise when needed.
  • Complete and transparent accounting at the conclusion of our business and payment to seller within 14 days.

Note:  The "Bulk Merchandise" Auction has proven to be an effective option for difficult situations. It combines the competitive atmosphere of the auction with the need for these buyers to obtain merchandise.  The bidders normally know each other and are competing regularly for limited merchandise in the same market.  This combination can produce very positive results for the seller.  The opportunity for these buyers to obtain a large quantity of merchandise all at once is rare.  We find that personalities also play a roll in these events.


Private Brokerage Sale

Sometimes circumstances require that merchandise be sold confidentially or privately. The seller may not wish to be identified or may not want their item(s) to be marketed with our normal "Hoop-la". The seller may be a museum or other institution, a prominent family or simply a "private" individual.  We respect and appreciate your right to privacy and are always looking to meet our clients' needs.


Terri Peters & Associates Auction and Estate Marketing will provide:

  • Our knowledgeable and experienced team to evaluate your items and accurately identify their 'value features' arriving at a fair market value.
  • Discuss options and advise how to best optimize the ale of your merchandise. 
  • Identify and contact potential interested buyers.  
  • Schedule and arrange for viewing of your merchandise and/or property by prospective buyers prior to the sale.
  • Negotiate the terms of sale and arrange for payment of your items.
  • Quick and convenient arrangments for pick-up and shipping of sold items.
  • Complete and transparent accounting at the conclusion of our business and payment to the seller within 14 days

Outright Purchases

Occasionally Terri Peters & Associates Auction and Estate Marketing is asked to purchase single items or entire estates outright.  We may be willing to do this depending on the circumstances and the merchandise being offered.  We suggest that sellers that wish to sell to Terri Peters & Associates Auction and Estate Marketing directly get at least three opinions of value from other disinterested appraisers. We may be willing to make an offer; however, before approaching us, it is better for the seller to have a price in mind. All of our dealings will remain strictly confidential.


After the Sale:

You can view the auction results online as it is happening and/or after the auction. A week prior to auction consignors will receive an email confirming auction day, time and how to join us.  

Terri Peters & Associates will then act on your behalf to secure payment from the buyer. Provided we have received payment in full, approximately 35 days after the auction you will receive a settlement statement.  We will then confirm your net proceeds of sale based on the hammer price, with any agreed-upon expenses and commission deducted. Once you review, sign and return the consignor report, a check will be cut and sent to you.

If a buyer was not found for your item, Terri Peters & Associates will contact you to discuss either re-offering or collecting your property.

When auctioning real estate, the property is sold  'as is'.  This means that the buyer cannot find some reason to ask for a discount or back out of the deal before closing (ie. a leaky roof, wet basement, radon, etc.) 

The property is sold with no contingencies.  When buying at auction, the bidder agrees to waive all contingencies including lawyer's approval, home inspection, bank financing, etc.

The seller pays no commission on the sale of the property!  The seller gets the total auction 'hammer' price.
